Distribution of awards and school uniforms in Melong II
An educational emergency in Melong II
Located in the Littoral region of Cameroon, the village of Melong II, in the municipality of Baré-Bakem, has around 1,749 inhabitants.
The area has been heavily affected by rural exodus, the decline of coffee farming and the economic consequences of the COVID-19 crisis.
This situation has weakened many families and directly impacted children’s learning conditions.
Faced with these challenges, the headteacher of Saint-Marc school reached out to Hand on Heart e.V. for support.
Thanks to a €3,000 donation from Sparkasse Saarbrücken, the organization was able to support 76 out of 111 students.
This intervention marked the beginning of a solidarity-driven initiative for education and equal opportunities.
